One of the best holiday destinations for unique and tranquil beauty is Corfu. Regardless of where you go or what you do, you’re going to relish in all the sights and sounds that surround you. Corfu is historic, but it’s not dull historic. Even though it’s a laidback town, there’s a certain energy about it that is difficult to explain. It’s not an excitable energy; it’s more as though people keep their excitement within themselves because they know it’s proper. One of the first activities you should look into on a holiday to Corfu is Trailriders Horse Trekking. This is a safe horse-riding facility that accommodates all skill levels. The horse-riding adventure is two hours and it takes you down tree-lined streets in local villages. The scenery is excellent, especially if you have never been to the area.

For those of you who are into mythology, visit Sissi’s Palace. If you’re traveling with kids and you think they might enjoy a little more adventure, head straight to Aqualand. This is a water park with a wave pool, a crazy river, a lazy river, traditional water slides and water toys for smaller children. This also has the potential to be a full day event.
One place you must visit while in Corfu is Arillas Beach. You can rent sunbeds here, otherwise it’s free. The reason to visit is the amazing natural beauty. It’s in North Corfu and easily the prettiest beach within 30 miles. Then again, that depends on what type of beach you’re looking for. For instance, if you prefer a rocky beach, go to Sidari Beach. This is a more active environment with a restaurant right on the beach.
If you’d like to visit the largest public square in Southern Europe, visit Spianada. You will find many shops, including jewelers and home goods stores. If you would like to witness 300-year-old artifacts, go to the Church of Saint Spirdon. Other interesting attractions in Corfu include New Fortress, Ermones Beach and the Museum of Asian Art.
